Only students with a verified .edu email can use Storage Buddy. That means every person you store with or rent from is a confirmed student at a participating university — not a stranger from the internet.
Every payment runs through Stripe with full PCI compliance. You never need to share bank details with your host or renter — the platform handles everything automatically.
Messages between hosts and renters stay within Storage Buddy. Your phone number, email, and personal details are never shared unless you choose to share them.
All messages should go through Storage Buddy's built-in messaging. If a problem comes up, our team can only help if the conversation happened on-platform. Taking things to text, email, or DMs means we can't step in.
Whether you're listing or booking, spell out the details early — how often you'll need access, any restrictions on timing, and anything that might affect the arrangement. Most problems start with assumptions, not bad intentions.
Don't send or accept money outside of Storage Buddy — no cash, no Venmo, no bank transfers. Our payment system exists to protect both sides. The moment money moves off-platform, those protections disappear.
